🇹🇷 TURKEY DETAINS LAWYER DEFENDING IMAMOGLU AS ANTI-GOVERNMENT PROTESTS GROW

Turkish authorities have arrested Mehmet Pehlivan, the lawyer for jailed Istanbul Mayor Ekrem Imamoglu, President Erdogan’s top rival.

Imamoglu, accused of graft and temporarily dismissed, sparked mass protests after his detention—the largest in a decade.

CHP MP Turan Taskin Ozer called the charges against Pehlivan "fabricated."

Imamoglu currently leads Erdogan in some national polls.

Over 1,900 people have been detained during related protests.
