Over 90 firefighters, 12 fire engines, 5 strike teams, 5 water tankers, and helicopters are throwing everything theyโve got at wildfires tearing through Noordhoek, Steenberg Estate, Ou Kaapse Weg, Clovelly, Tokai, and Silvermine.
The City of Cape Town evacuated the Noordhoek Manor retirement village after the flames rolled to within 200 meters of homes.
Firefighters are running on bottled water, energy drinks, and pure adrenaline โ and theyโre begging for more supplies like eye drops, and snack bars.
Stay out of Tokai and Silvermine unless your idea of a weekend adventure is choking on ash and dodging helicopters.
