QUANTUM SCIENTISTS SPEED UP THE IMPOSSIBLE — WITHOUT BREAKING IT

Quantum computers are insanely fast, but measuring their data is painfully slow—and risky.

One wrong move, and the entire system collapses.

Now, researchers from the University of Bristol (with help from Oxford, Strathclyde, and Sorbonne) found a clever fix:

add extra qubits—the building blocks of quantum info—to gather data faster without breaking the system.

Normally, measuring a qubit takes time if you want accuracy. But with more qubits in play, it’s like turning a tiny blurry image into a full-size photo—you see the answer faster and more clearly.

And it scales:

each added qubit boosts the clarity, letting scientists shorten measurements without losing confidence.

Their work could supercharge how quantum computers read data—one of the biggest bottlenecks in the race to build next-gen tech.
