The center-right won the election… but not by enough to actually run the country.

So, Prime Minister Luis Montenegro is back where he started: in charge, but without the power to do much.

Meanwhile, the right-wing Chega party and the old-school Socialists tied for second.

Chega’s boss says they “made history”—and he might even pass the Socialists once all the votes roll in.

Montenegro won’t team up with Chega, and no one else wants to play nice either.

So it's back to deal-making chaos while big stuff like lithium mining and selling the national airline sits in limbo.
