🚨🇸🇾 KURDS WARN: DON’T LET ISIS OUT OF THE CAGE
The Kurdish-led SDF, guarding 10,000 ISIS fighters in Syria, is refusing to hand over prisons to Syria’s new Islamist rulers, warning that ISIS is already regrouping after Bashar al-Assad’s fall.
At Hasakah prison, where 4,500 fighters are locked up, a masked Kurdish officer warned:
“When the Syrian regime fell … ISIS seized a lot of weapons, and they will organize themselves again to attack prisons.”
ISIS has already tried twice, because apparently, jail just isn’t their vibe.
Some detainees, like a Briton and a German-Tunisian, claim they “regret” joining ISIS.
But officials say that’s likely theater, noting they still appoint “emirs,” and plan jailbreaks like it’s a hobby.
The SDF, America’s main partner against ISIS, says it won’t hand over control to Damascus or Turkey, no matter how much they ask.
Kurdish Officer:
"Sharing it with the new government will not be acceptable.
Protecting this prison is the responsibility of the coalition and the SDF only."
