Dozens of Democratic congresswomen are planning to wear pink during Trump’s Joint Address to Congress as a coordinated protest against his policies.
New Mexico Rep. Teresa Leger Fernández, chair of the Democratic Women’s Caucus, says the move is meant to signal opposition to Trump’s agenda, which they claim harms women and families.
Fernández:
“Pink is a color of power and protest. It’s time to rev up the opposition and come at Trump loud and clear.”
Democrats have historically used attire as a form of protest, previously wearing white for suffragists and red for reproductive rights. Now, pink is their latest message.
