The book says Biden’s team ignored warning signs, even after a disastrous debate where he appeared weak and confused.
Whipple says his advisers were “trapped in a kind of fog of delusion and denial” and kept telling themselves he could win and govern again.
Whipple:
“One of his best friends told me that depending on what day of the week it is and whether he’s seen Trump on TV that night, he looks in the mirror and says, ‘I could have beaten that blanking guy.’ He’s not sure that Biden will ever accept it in his lifetime.”
