🚨DAILY OPEN-INTEL BRIEF: MAJOR ESCALATION BETWEEN ISRAEL AND HEZBOLLAH

1. Hezbollah Attacks

Hezbollah launched a barrage of rockets towards Israel, targeting Haifa, the Zofulon military base, and various areas in the Galilee region.

A missile fired by Hezbollah landed in the Haifa area, and the Israeli settlement of Sa'ar was also targeted.

2. Israeli Retaliation

Israel conducted numerous airstrikes across Lebanon, targeting Hezbollah infrastructure and personnel.

The IDF carried out strikes in the southern suburbs of Beirut, the Bekaa Valley, and the town of Shia.

Israel claimed responsibility for an airstrike against the Houthis in Hudaydah, Yemen, destroying an oil terminal and several power plants.

Airstrikes were also reported in Syria, likely conducted by Israel.

3. International Response

The escalating conflict has drawn international attention, with the US urging restraint from both sides.

Netanyahu declared that the assassination of Nasrallah was necessary for the return of Israeli citizens to northern Israel.

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian accused the US and Europe of lying about reaching a ceasefire in Gaza if Iran delayed its response to Ismael Haniyeh's assassination.

4. Civilian Casualties

Lebanese Ministry of Health reported 39 deaths and over 200 injuries as a result of Israeli airstrikes across Lebanon on September 29, 2024.

Civilian casualties continue to rise in Lebanon due to Israel's military actions.

🎥| IRGC Aerospace Commander, Hajizadeh talking about the importance of diplomacy, during martyr Amir Abdollohian in connection with the military response of April 1st:

I transcribed it for you:

When they [The Zionists] saw that Iran had the will to strike, they began threatening us, saying they would wage war, and that they would strike.

They started with these kinds of statements. We, the military, obviously knew that what they were saying was too big for their mouths and that they didn’t have the courage or the ability.

However, our voice was through our honorable foreign minister [Amir Abdollohian]. We were ready to hit back, but it was our Foreign Minister who slapped their mouths [The fact that it became a legitimate operation was due to the actions of Iran’s FM, Martyr Amir-Abdollahian; If we wanted to operate without diplomatic measures, maybe we would not find this legitimacy.]

They saw the responses he [Amir-Abdollahian] gave on behalf of Iran—they realized that we would definitely take action.

Then they sent a message to Martyr Amir-Abdollahian saying that this is your right. Both the Americans wrote letters & the Zionist regime sent a message through Turkey, saying: Now that you want to take action, atleast do it mildly.

If these messages had been responded to, with fear and trembling, they wouldn’t have shifted from threats to begging us
[all because of correct diplomacy] .

➡️ Commander Hajizadeh continued to emphasize:

They started begging, they [Zionists & Americans] asked for the action be mild. Even on the last day, they contacted Martyr Amir-Abdollahian through the foreign minister of one of the Arab countries, and he [Amir-Abdollahian] also contacted Commander (of IRGC) Maj. General Salami and said they have sent a message saying that they will solve the ceasefire issue, just don’t strike please (🥹) Israel had sent this message.

FROM UKRAINE TO LEBANON — MY PERSONAL REALITY OF WAR

In February 2022, Russia invaded Ukraine, and we failed to evacuate some of my company's staff from the country, leading to a multi-month nightmare to get them and their families out.

Today, I sit helplessly on a flight to Washington, scrambling to evacuate dozens of my staff and their families.

For anyone watching Ukraine, Lebanon, or any other country at war, no words can describe the impact war can have on people like me and you.

Within hours, the lives of millions in Lebanon were turned upside down.

My thoughts go out to you all.

I hope this war ends soon, as the situation in the Middle East is on the verge of crossing a dangerous red line with global repercussions.

The next red lines?

Iran sending troops to Lebanon.

Israel invading Lebanon.

The latter is highly likely and expected by many.

The former could have unimaginable consequences, and the likely total destruction of Lebanon as Iran and Israel enter an all-out war.

There's still a chance for a ceasefire deal, however, the chances for this are getting slimmer by the minute.

the Americans begun their psychological messaging campaign to Iran, asking to exercise restraint. The CIA knows how to pick their words and how to time certain messages, like repeating that a ceasefire is very close, but not seeing the end of it, because the Americans don’t want a ceasefire, but they try to buy time.

Zarif & Pezeshkian both said in New York, during the UNGA, that Iran received US’ request to exercise restraint as they are near a ceasefire resolution, “deceiving” these Iranian officials, to delay any Iranian retaliation for martyr Haniyeh’s assassination.

I put deceiving between quotation marks since we can’t say for certain of their intentions. But to put my own personal remark: Zarif is US’ most efficient and practical investment in Iran, so far.

Now that you understand the absence of Iran’s response for martyr Haniyeh’s assassination, it’s important to understand that this doesn’t mean that Iran has left alone the resistance at all. We’re solely talking about Iran’s personal loss of chance, in retaliating.

To avoid further confusion, Iran’s leader, Ayatollah Khamenei, doesn’t fall under the category of “Iranian official”. He’s the sole reason for Iran’s continued support to the resistance. Iran has given many martyrs in the path of liberation. One of our prominent commanders was just confirmed martyred alongside Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah.

Iran will continue support for Hezbollah (arms, intel, etc) and this won’t be affected by Iran’s (current) government.

📝| READ: To understand better the issue of Iran not retaliating, we dive deeper into more complex problems that have created itself due to Iran’s current administration.

I’m going to write this in a manner so that everyone can understand it.

Giving a response/retaliation against israel, is a matter of both political as military permissions and capabilities.

Military wise, Iran has no issues. During April 1st “Operation True/Fullfilled Promise,” Iran retaliated against israel setting a new deterence while expecting a military response by israel, therefore Iran’s military (both the army & IRGC) were prepared, ready and awaiting for the worst case scenario.

The problem here is political. Operation True Promised was carried out during Iran’s former administration under martyr Raisi. The Raisi government was very pro-resistance but also very anti-imperialism, or rather anti-westoxification. Raisi’s government while not neglecting the West and being open to communication on negotiations regarding sanctions, it never compromised Iran’s redlines and resistance culture.

The new Pezeshkian governemnt of Iran, however, set forward a different approach. Pezeshkian’s administration is really just Zarif & his gang. Zarif is, albeit being supposedly pro-resistance, is not so much of an anti-west person. This last one is not binding to just one person, but mirrors to every official, small or important, that he puts into office. In order to not drift away too deep into this topic, which is a whole topic on itself, let’s limit it to: ‘Zarif trusts the Americans way too much’.

The issue of not retaliating/direct confrontation by Iran is a political issue, and that of Zarif’s & gang (under the cover of Pezeshkian—who’s not really much of a persona here). In the video attached, Foad Izadi, an Iranian expert on American affairs says on Soraya’s program that the Americans are experts in mindgames. After the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh,

Many people ask themselves if Hassan Nasrallah would still be alive if 🇮🇷 would have hit 🇮🇱 after the assassination of Haniyeh

1: Israel is no joke. Its a nuclear power with advanced weapons

2: Iran is a ~90 million economy with fragile industrial infrastructure. The country which equips all the forces that fight Israel

3: Weapons like Air-Lora mean Israel can reach Iran and Iran can at best only provide point-protection of very important objects against such weapons

4: Israel is under existential threat if a full war breaks out.
It would certainly use its nuclear weapons if the situation becomes too critical

5: Israel used a covert sabotage asset to assassinate Haniyeh and took no responsibility.
In the 1. April attack against Iran's embassy compound in Damascus, Israel took no responsibility, but it could be proven that only Israels military could be responsible for it.

6: Iran's missile attack in April was disproportional in the sense that a key goal was to force Israel to spend a large amount of its expensive and rare 1st tier missile defense interceptors.
But the actual impact was proportional or even below that: Striking the military assets (or their support infrastructure) that were used to strike the embassy compound.
A capability display against a nuclear power with very fragile shallow strategic depth. Carefully calibrated to not escalate things further.

7: An aggressive nuclear power with strong military is best defeated via a prolonged war directly at its borders. Stressing its economy and wearing out the homefront.
With or without its old leadership, Hezbollah is designed to do exactly that.

➡️ Some people don't like the hear such things, but its a matter of life and death, not some computer game

🔁Warfare Analysis:

A few days ago, the Iranian president said, "We are prepared to put all our weapons aside, but the question is how prepared is Israel to do the same?"

This is a very strange statement because it shows that Iran is restrained and does not want a war.

Washington understood this, and allowed Israel to carry out more strikes against Iran and its allies.

Iran does not want a full-scale war, and Washington does not want a full-scale war either, as it goes against the interests of both. This is why the response to the assassination of Haniya has been delayed.

Iran does not want a full-scale war before achieving a nuclear bomb, while Netanyahu wants a war with Iran before Iran acquires a nuclear bomb.

A full-scale war could break out if Iran strikes and damages Israel, prompting the U.S. to attack Iran afterward.

What Iran seems to not understand is that the U.S. has more to lose than Iran in the event of a full-scale war. All its military bases in the Arab Gulf states will become targets, along with oil fields and ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz, which would change the face of the region.

In addition to keeping the U.S. occupied with the Middle East quagmire, allowing Russia and China to pursue their interests without significant interference.
