Iran’s Foreign Ministry confirmed it will give negotiations with the U.S. “a genuine chance,” with discussions set to take place in Oman on Saturday.

Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei said:

“We intend to assess the other side’s intent and resolve this Saturday.”

This is Tehran’s version of optimism: cautious, suspicious, and likely already drafting Plan B.

Still, diplomacy might just survive another round—assuming everyone brings their best poker face.
