So, the U.S. and Iran just finished the first round of “we’re-totally-not-talking-to-each-other” nuclear and sanctions negotiations… by passing notes through Oman like it’s 8th-grade study hall.
This all went down in Muscat, and yes, it was “respectful” and “constructive,” which is diplomat-speak for no one flipped a table.
After 2 and a half hours of carefully-worded side-eye, something wild happened: the U.S. guy and the Iranian guy actually spoke to each other—for a few seconds—as they walked out.
They’re set to do this all again next week.
