So…someone hacked Lucy Powell—an actual UK government minister—and used her verified X account to shill a totally fake cryptocurrency called “HCC.” Yep, as in House of Commons Coin.

The hackers went full cosplay: using Parliament’s logo and Powell’s official title like it was a badge of trust. They called it a “community-driven digital currency,” which is code for: “we’re about to rob you and vanish.”

Her team jumped in fast, deleted the posts, and secured the account. But the damage? Already done. It was your classic pump and dump—get people hyped, spike the value, and peace out before anyone realizes they bought digital air.

Only 34 transactions happened, worth about £225. So, not exactly Ocean’s Eleven… more like Crypto’s Clueless Cousin.
