🚨🇦🇷SHALE BREAKTHROUGH: PAN AMERICAN ENERGY STRIKES GAS IN ARGENTINA'S PATAGONIA
Pan American Energy has discovered a major unconventional shale gas reserve in Argentina’s Chubut province, likened to the massive Vaca Muerta formation.
The find in the Golfo San Jorge basin marks the region’s first non-conventional gas project, backed by a $250 million investment to drill 5 exploratory wells in the Cerro Dragón area.
PAE signed a 35-year concession with Governor Ignacio Torres to rejuvenate mature fields and boost long-term production.
CEO Marcos Bulgheroni called the project a milestone for shale exploration in Patagonia, confirmed through 3D seismic and exploratory drilling.
The deal is expected to generate millions in revenue for Chubut over the next 5 years, while supporting Argentina’s push for energy independence.
