NASA’s Donald Pettit just landed in Kazakhstan with two Russian crewmates after 220 days on the ISS — on his 70th birthday!
They orbited Earth 3,520 times, traveling 93.3 million miles (that’s like flying to the Moon and back 195 times).
Pettit studied metal 3D printing in zero gravity, tested ways to clean water in space, and watched how fire and plants behave in microgravity.
This was his 4th trip to space — he’s spent a total of 590 days off the planet!
