Kandilli Observatory reports a 5.2 aftershock in the Sea of Marmara, shortly after the initial 6.2 quake.
No injuries or major damage reported yet, but the jolts were enough to send crowds into the streets, avoiding buildings and anxiously waiting for updates.
With Istanbul’s long history of seismic drama, nerves are high.
