A suicide car bomber attacked a school bus in Pakistan's restive Balochistan province Wednesday morning, killing four children and wounding 38 others as they headed to school in Khuzdar district.
Mohsin Naqvi (Pakistan's Interior Minister):
"The enemy had committed an act of sheer barbarism by targeting innocent children."
While no group immediately claimed responsibility, suspicion falls on ethnic Baloch separatist groups who regularly target civilians and security forces in the region—particularly the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), designated a terrorist organization by the US in 2019.
The attack comes just days after another car bombing killed four people near a market in Qillah Abdullah and follows the BLA's March train assault that killed 33 people.
