On Friday, May 23, 2025, as part of Israel’s systematic assassinations of medical professionals, Israel targeted their family home in Khan Younis, southern Gaza. That day, it was Dr. Hamdi’s turn to stay with the children. The first American bomb failed to detonate, so Israeli warplanes struck again, killing nine of the children instantly and critically wounding Dr. Hamdi and their son Adam.
Today, Dr. Hamdi Al-Najjar succumbed to his injuries.
