🚨🇷🇺🇸🇾 RUSSIAN WARSHIPS LEAVE SYRIA AFTER ASSAD OVERTHROWN
Satellite images show Russian warships hastily abandoning their base at Tartous, Syria, after rebels sent Bashar al-Assad packing to Moscow.
At least three vessels, including two missile frigates and an oiler, are now parked 8 miles offshore, while the rest of the fleet has vanished into Mediterranean.
The fleet’s sudden departure between Dec. 6 and Dec. 9 screams “security scramble” as Assad’s 54-year family reign imploded.
Rebels took Damascus in a lightning advance, leaving Russia negotiating with the new rulers to keep its Tartous naval hub and Latakia airbase intact.
Tartous is Russia’s only Mediterranean pit stop for repairs and refueling, doubling as a launchpad for sneaky military trips into Africa.
For now, it looks like the fleet would rather be floating than caught in the chaos.
