After Daniel Penny was cleared of manslaughter charges in Jordan Neely’s subway death, AOC claimed the verdict sends a dangerous message about accountability.

AOC:

"The fact that a person has expressed no remorse indicates a risk that it may happen again.

If we do not want to unleash that level of violence then we should exert a level of accountability to prevent that from happening."

Penny, a Marine veteran, placed Neely in a chokehold for several minutes after witnesses reported erratic and threatening behavior.

He was hailed by some as a hero for intervening, while others condemned him for what they saw as excessive force.
