BACTERIA IN YOUR BRAIN? SCIENCE WONDERS IF YOU’VE GOT COMPANY

Thought your brain was a bacteria-free zone? Think again.

Researchers just found microbes thriving in fish brains—trout and salmon, to be exact.

Apparently, the blood-brain barrier isn’t quite the fortress we thought it was.

Scientists caught bacteria mid-sneak through the barrier, using tricks like producing polyamines (molecular skeleton keys) to wiggle inside.

If microbes can chill in fish brains, the big question is: Are human brains next?

Critics say it’s a leap, but remember: they once laughed at the gut microbiome.

Meanwhile, if your brain bacteria exist, they might be influencing metabolism, immune responses, or even your mood—because why let the gut microbes have all the fun?

At least maybe in the future when you forget your car keys, you can blame the bacteria.
