China, Iran, and Russia are set to hold their fifth joint naval exercise, Security Belt-2025, in mid-March near Iran’s Chabahar Port, which sits on the Gulf of Oman—right at the crossroads of the Indian Ocean and the Strait of Hormuz, a vital route for global oil shipments.
The drill will include ship-to-ship combat, boarding operations, damage control, and joint rescue missions.
China is sending a guided-missile destroyer (Baotou) and a supply ship (Gaoyouhu) to join the action.
These exercises have become routine since 2019, strengthening military ties between the three nations.
If this were a group project, the West might want to start paying closer attention.
