“We must defend the rights of the oppressed. Today, part of the Islamic world is deeply wounded—Palestine is wounded, Lebanon is wounded.
Some of the crimes committed in this region are unprecedented. We don’t recall, neither from history nor from what we have read, any conflict in which nearly 20,000 children were killed within less than 2 years. This is no joke; the Islamic world should witness this, recognize it, understand it, feel the suffering of the Palestinian people as their own, and consider it their duty to stand together.
Unity alone, without even resorting to military action, can significantly influence the situation. When Islamic governments stand united, in harmony, and speak with one voice, others will be forced to reconsider their actions.
We pray that Almighty God blesses this Eid Fitr for the entire Islamic Ummah, and grants the leaders of Islamic countries the determination, motivation, and initiative necessary to truly establish a united Islamic community.”
