Senators Cruz and Cantwell:
"It is completely unacceptable that our request has been repeatedly ignored."
The U.S. Army refused to hand over a 2024 report explaining its failure to use ADS-B (Automatic Dependent Surveillance–Broadcast) technology during flights around Reagan National.
A Black Hawk without ADS-B collided with a jet in January, killing 67.
Despite FAA rules requiring ADS-B for civilian aircraft, the military has used exemptions. Lawmakers say misuse is widespread.
If the system had been active, NTSB will assess whether the crash could’ve been avoided.
FAA is now requiring ADS-B near DCA except for national security missions.
