RARE 'DOUBLE SUNRISE' CAUGHT OVER CANADA DURING PARTIAL SOLAR ECLIPSE

Photographers in New Brunswick and Québec captured a spectacular sunrise eclipse that made the sun appear to rise twice.

On March 29, observers across Canada’s east coast witnessed a rare optical illusion: a "double sunrise" during a partial solar eclipse.

Andrea Girones caught the event from the Bay of Fundy, using precise mapping tools to line up the eclipse perfectly.

Meanwhile in Québec, Kevin Wood and Mike Kentrianakis captured the eclipsed sun rising like twin headlights over the horizon.

The illusion occurred as the crescent-shaped sun rose partially blocked by the moon—creating two bright points of light.

One observer called it “like horns rising through fog.”
