China, Brazil, and the ‘Friends of Peace’ group have called for an immediate end to the Russia-Ukraine conflict during their first ministerial meeting at the UN General Assembly.
Led by Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and Brazilian advisor Celso Amorim, the 18-nation group urged a peaceful settlement based on a 6-point plan.
The plan includes avoiding escalation, providing humanitarian aid, and holding an international peace conference.
Wang stressed that peace is the “only realistic option,” while the US criticized China’s role.
