Pro-Palestinian activists protested accusing Britain of tacitly supporting Israel's actions in Gaza.
The demonstration, featuring a couple of hundred participants waving Palestinian and Cypriot flags, focused on the UK's military presence at the base.
Recently, the UK sent additional troops to Cyprus for potential evacuations amid escalating violence in Lebanon, including the killing of Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah.
Peter Iosif from the Cyprus Peace Council stated that the British bases contradict Cyprus's sovereignty and independence.
In response, a British spokesperson denied transporting cargo to Israeli forces:
“Such activity must be in line with UK policy for evacuation and humanitarian purposes only."
