Workers demanded a 70% raise, but instead got what opposition leader Ozgur Ozel called proof Erdogan’s government “lost touch with reality.”
Ozel:
“They say that inflation would increase as much as the minimum wage is increased.
If there’s no bread and butter, there should be elections!”
(Sorry, folks, that’s still scheduled for 2028.)
Erdogan defended the hike as “balanced,” but 9 million workers aren’t feeling it.
