🚨🇺🇸 DELTA JET CLIPS RUNWAY AT LAGUARDIA—FAA INVESTIGATING
A Delta passenger jet arriving from Jacksonville, Florida, scraped its left wing on the runway during landing at New York’s LaGuardia Airport Sunday night—pilots unaware until air traffic control flagged it.
Controllers radioed the cockpit:
"Somebody saw some sparks from one of your wings. You guys feel anything?"
The response:
"We did. Hold on a second."
The plane, carrying 80 passengers and crew, circled back and landed safely, proceeding to its gate without injuries.
Delta confirmed the aircraft remains grounded, apologizing for the incident.
Notably, the same regional carrier operating this flight was also involved in last month’s fiery crash landing in Toronto.
The FAA has now launched an investigation.
