🚨🇲🇱 MALI TAKES OUT ISIS BIGSHOT ABU DAHDAH IN JOINT OP
Mali’s armed forces, teaming up with Africa Corps and the Movement for the Salvation of Azawad (MSA), just dropped the hammer on ISSP commander Abu Dahdah and 6 of his fighters in northern Ménaka.
ISSP (Islamic State Sahel Province) is the local ISIS branch wreaking havoc across Mali, Niger, and Burkina Faso, part of a brutal conflict where militant groups fight governments and each other for territory and influence.
It matters because the violence fuels regional instability, displaces millions, and threatens to spill over into wider West Africa.
Abu Dahdah, a Moroccan national and right-hand man to Abu Alghabbas, wasn’t just hanging around the desert for the views - he was there to forcibly recruit locals and allegedly mastermind attacks on Nigerien Army posts, including in Banibangou.
Russian and MSA sources say he was the go-to guy for weapons and bombs, making his removal a solid dent in ISIS Sahel’s operations.
