Between January and May, China installed a jaw-dropping 198 GW of solar and 46 GW of wind - enough new power to light up entire nations like Indonesia or Turkey.
In May alone, China was pumping out almost 100 solar panels every second and erecting 5,300 wind turbines, rivaling the electricity needs of Poland, Sweden, or the UAE.
China now boasts over 1,000 GW of solar capacity -half the world’s total - yet its solar giants are bleeding cash, with losses topping 8 billion yuan this year amid fierce price wars.
