Turkey’s forests are burning near Izmir for a second day, forcing villages to evacuate as smoke and wind spread the fire fast.
In France, wildfires have scorched 400 hectares in the southwest, after temps shot past 40°C and flames threatened campsites and an abbey.
Helicopters, tractors, and exhausted firefighters are racing to stop the spread, but the fires aren’t out yet.
An early heatwave is fueling the chaos, with record-high temperatures and alerts hitting most of the continent.
Italy issued red alerts for 21 cities, Spain hit 42°C in Seville, and France shut down 200 schools to keep kids out of oven-like classrooms.
