The US Trump admin has proposed a dangerous plan for creating the fake Zangezur corridor: To hand over the management of the route inside Armenian territory to a private American company in order to connect Azerbaijan with Nakhchivan, and ultimately giving Turkey direct access to the Caspian Sea & the entire east.
Baku is demanding foreign guarantees, while Armenia wants to maintain passport control & customs checks. If Trump’s plan is implemented, Syunik would effectively be handed over to the US and then to Israel, and Iran’s north-south corridor would be blocked.
